| Wooden toys made from eco-friendly rubberwood
Made from what?
ImagiPlay's wooden toys are all made from plantation-grown rubberwood. Rubber plantations have existed for hundreds of years in tropical countries. Rubber trees produce a sap that is used to make latex products. At the end of their latex-producing years (generally 25-30 years) the trees are harvested and new ones planted. But these wonderful trees have one more gift to give us – that of their beautiful, splinter-free hardwood, from which ImagiPlay makes these quality wooden toys.
The wonderful, brightly colored paints used for ImagiPlay toys come from a very reputable paint company, with a division devoted
entirely to producing non-toxic paints for children's toys. None of their paints have ever been recalled. The paints are tested by a
third party testing agency, SGS International, before they are applied to the toys. To leave no stone unturned, once ImagiPlay receive the toys in America, they test the paints yet again.
Made where and by whom?
ImagiPlay is proud to contribute to the growth of many developing nations by crafting our toys in small, mostly family run factories around Asia.
The rubberwood used to make our toys is grown in Southeast Asia, so the rubberwood toys are crafted in Sri Lanka, Viet Nam and some carefully selected factories in China. ImagiPlay has several factories in and around Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. The factories are placed close to the neighborhoods where the workers live. The majority of ImagiPlay's factory workers walk or ride their bikes to work each day.
Bamboo is primarily grown in China, which is where they craft the bamboo boxes and toys and some of the Rubberwood toys.
ImagiPlay visits every factory to ensure:
There is no child labor
Workers are paid a fair, living wage
Workers are provided with a clean, safe environment to work
Workers are treated with respect and dignity
Only local workers are utilized
ImagiPlay develop relationships with EVERYONE involved and ALL are included in our mission. At our factories, all workers are paid a fair, living wage and are treated with respect. Every worker is given authority to stop production whenever they detect a safety or quality issue. The experienced craftsmen and women take pride in their work, and it shows in the toys.
