There once was a fellow named Gore
He wasn't who started the war
He championed earth
for all he was worth
but still kept his meat-eating flaw

Robyn Landis

If you wouldn't dare munch on linoleum
Or guzzle down sulfuric oleum
Eating red 40 lake
Is a grievous mistake:
It's derived from coal tar and petroleum!

Hannah Doubleday

There once was a school teaching "Green" education
Whose children were honored for their dedication.
It was hard going green
The Budget was lean
So fundraisers were a part of their recreation.

He's just another preacher
He's the first black President
He's the White House's Resident
Well, Of course he is!

One day the planet will be sighing
in pleasure you see, not in crying
for people everywhere

o be healthy and safe so let's answer Earth's plight.

I learned about photovoltaic
With panels that look like mosaic
Sun voltage and amps
To power our lamps
Should make fossil fuels archaic.

I m taking a class solar thermal
And follow the sun s path diurnal.
My face may not show
How much I now know,
But the grade at the end of the term ll.

Another resource is wind power
With turbines atop a high tower.
The wind on the hill
Can lower one s bill
To no cents per kilowatt hour.

You can tell I like energy clean
Burning coal, oil and gas is obscene
Wave power and tidal
Are not suicidal.
Our environment needs to be green

Lucy Goodell
Concord, CA

Help the planet live long and prosper
Even though we dont have alot to offer
Out of stupidity, we have destroyed our home
When it is gone, there will be no where to roam
It is not too late to turn around and fix this
Otherwise the Earth will drift into the abyss

Samantha Lewis
Mobile, AL

they thought life was for all to abuse

There once was a tree that was dying.
To it's branches, a crow went flying.
A young girl heard
the crow's sad word
and helped it live as it was trying.

In a clear-cut there is one tree standing,
still striving in spite of demanding
people who can not see that the bare lot is a wound on this Earth from their handing.

RACIAL POLARIZATION AND THE UNPROTECTED BLACK BEAR

When the polar bear charged round the bend,
Said the black bear, "Chill out, my white friend.
It's not the color of hair
That defines the whole bear,
So let's both be glad we're not skinned."

The Earth she wants green,
with air and water clean,

There once was some trash in a pile
So tall it reached as high as a mile
But then folks said
"Let's make compost instead"
Fruit trees and flowers did smile
